Timelapse Import Issue - Common issue!

I see that othere haver had the same issue (going back years). Can't believe this is so counterintuitive.

Task: Import sequentially numbered JPG images to make timelapse sequence.

File> Import > Select first image of sequence (yes, all files are sequentiall numbered, and have the same name) > Option: Image Sequence checked.

PR only imports the first image, exactly how OP has described it in this 2016 post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/importing-image-sequence-option-greyed-out/td-p/5008738

I'm a PP novice, but have done this before, and am surprised that this basic operation fails. I'm sure I'm omitting a basic step, but I have followed instructions carefully. One comment concerned Prefs Media Settings, but that option is not avaialble in my version of PR 23.6.0

Thanks for your help.

Correct answer Ann Bens

Its not a common issue.

Are you sure it is just the first image and not the movie clip (they look the same in the Project Panel).

Look at the duration or drop it on the timeline and hit play.
