Video Playback - MEDIA PENDING

So I've never had this issue before. I recently finished shooting up a project on an FX30. I used a Tamron lens for footage & a Sirui Anamorphic for specific footage. Now i've always encountered some lag, slow buggy playback etc. in premiere when editing footage and playing back in the timeline. Though for whatever reason I can hardly work with the anamorphic footage.

When I open the app and add in footage I can maybe watch a clip or two for a few seconds before it freezes and then MEDIA PENDING shows on all the clips in the project. The clips will still playback the audio, though no visual. I have to close and reopen premiere constantly. PP isn't freezing it's just not playing back. Though the footage not shot anamorphic I can upload large amounts, scrub though, play & edit fine.

The footage is shot in 4K & 24FPS. I started shooting this project in 24fps where as previously I have not. I do not think that this should effect the playback. Also it being anamorphic footage I don't believe should be an issue. My last thought is that I shot in CINE EI on the FX30 for the anamorphic footage. Could this be an issue? And if so are there playback settings I need to adjust. Other than that I'm not sure. I've edited much larger sized clips too so it's confusing.

I'm editing on -

3.8 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i7

AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16 GB

64 GB RAM

Also the footage is on a 2TB SSD G-Drive

I believe I should have more than enough power to edit this, as I've never had this issue before. Again, I've experienced freezes, crashes, etc. though never just have the yellow Media Pending show along with no visual playback when clips are in the timeline.

If anyone can help me or has had this issue it would be greatly appreciated if you have any advice!!

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the preferences:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.
