View closed captions in an existing file - Adobe Premiere Pro 2023

Hi all,How can I import an mp4 video file, sent to me by our closed captioner, into Adobe Premiere 2023, play the file, and watch it with closed captions turned on?

I'm completely new to Premiere, having worked only in FCPX. I'm on a 2019 MacBook Pro running Monterey.

Everything I find in a search tells me to click the wrench under the program monitor and enable closed captions. I don't see that option in the wrench dropdown menu. 

(Incidentally, I also have Quicktime Player 10.5 installed and everything I find in a search tells me I can open a file in QT and choose View > Show Closed Captioning but that option isn't in that menu either.)

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!
