RH7: header and footer from .htt ARE included in output
I am using RH7 and Word 2007.
I understand the general rule is that headers/footers from RH .htt template files are not displayed in the printed documentation output. I have seen cases in my own documentation where headers/footers do show up in my Word document, albeit not in the headers/footers of the document but in the document body itself. The header shows up on the first page of a topic only, and the footer only on the last page of a topic.
It does not happen every time, and I'm still trying to track down what is causing this to occur. I'd like to prevent this from happening if possible. Is there a setting I am missing in my layout definition?
My current settings include:
- generate a single document
- start each topic on a new page
- a "flat" TOC (no books)
- maintain HTML heading levels
- style mappings via a Word template
My header does use a UDV (for the product name) and my footer uses JavaScript (for a date). The conversion does resolve the UDV correctly but the JavaScript is not executed. The formatting is correct (the CSS styles are being used as I didn't map these to the Word template as I didn't expect them to be output).
Thanks,
Dave
