ACROBAT PRO 2023 NOT COMBINING SIMPLE SMALL FILES

Latest version of Adobe. I have a 256 page document, no images or text, itrs a SPot UV file for a book..

 

Anyway the whole thing is only 10MB, and is comprised of separate pdfs.

 

When I select all 256 PDF's and bring them into Acrobat to combine them, It gets stuck on

"Looking st Security Settings" and crashes Acrobat..

 

 

This is  RIDICULOUS and should not be happening. 

 

Plese Adobe help me fix this. It's completely unacceptable.

    The latest version is not a version number, and will be wrong when the next version comes out. And indeed, sometimes, users are not using the latest version. Therefore, should you always give also the version number.

     

    There may be one faulty file in the stack.

     

    To check that, you should only take half of the files. If the problem comes up, the faulty file may be in that stack. Continue with a quarter of the files (half of the first stack). If the issue does not manifest, you should try the other half. Do this, until you find the culprit. You should, however, know, that several files could be faulty. You will, however, only find the bad files, by doing a systematic job.
