Acrobat pro is incredibly slow and laggy

Acrobat is incredibly slow and every action takes around 10 seconds to execute. 

opening a file, go into the page organization menu etc... 

Latest version 
Win 10, good specs laptop. 

this is regardless of the file size, and behaves the same on even a one-page pdf. 
this happens on even a completely fresh computer 
no effect after reinstalling Acrobat
same behavior on various machines and all types of files sizes, text or images

I use extensively all the Adobe suite without problems. 
This problem has happened every time for months 


What could be the issue ? 
how to fix it ? 
Is the team aware of the problem and working on a solution ?
