Question

Adobe Acrobat Form completed in Chrome is not completable in Adobe Acrobat reader

We have a form on a sharepoint site. when users click on it, it opens in the reader extenstion for Chrome.  User fills it out, and saves it to their desktop.

Now, when the user opens the file on the desktop, the form is uneditable, none of the form fields are available, EXCEPT for signature fields.

If, however, the user re-opens the same form from their desktop in Chrome with the extension, the form is editable.

Is this a version issue between the chrome plug in and the desktop version?

Hi @CAPICINC

Thank you for well explaining the issue.

What exactly is causing the trouble here, could only confirm if we look into the form itself.

There's likely a chance the form is created this way or has some restrictions that it's only compatible or fillable on the browser.

Or another scenario is formed is opened in Chrome's inbuilt PDF viewer, not in the Acrobat browser plugin.

Or it's a very old form created in an earlier version of Acrobat, and when the form was created it wasn't saved as Reader Extended PDF.

Thanks,

can't share the form, it has confidential info on it. (also, it's 32 pages)

The form was created in Acrobat Pro (32 bit)  2023.003.20244.  Form was saved as reader extended, required for saving forms.

Reader is installed today, latest version.

I think the reader version may be 64 bit, do we need to install 32 bit to match?  I rememver a similar problem earlier with our form.
