Question

Adobe Acrobat (read only version)

I have generic Adobe Acrobat installed, worked fine for years allowing to read basic files.

I have recently tried the Adobe editor version that allowes file modification (payed for app) which I cancelled.  I can no longer just view a pdf file, I am now forced to log into Adobe.  Users should not be forced to log in to just to read files with the basic Adobe version, I'm not using the cloud, but my local desktop.

Assuming something remained on my pc from the editor that is preventing me from just viewing the file as before.  How do I fix this?  And no, I do not want or need to login into Adobe just to read a local file.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Please remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html , reboot the computer and reinstall the application using the direct link https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and see if that works.
