all pdf pages are black

version: Adobe Acrobat Pro Continuous Release | 2023.006.20380 | 64 bit

Windows 10 Pro 22H2; OS Build: 19045.3693

About six months ago, suddenly all Adobe pages in all documents opened black. I turned to alternative but more cumbersome editing methods after that. Several times since I've searched online for solutions, but the postings and discussions on this problem are nearly non-existent. I've found suggested changes to make in Preferences, but none worked. I can open a pdf in Sumatra, Firefox, Edge, or Chrome browser without any problem. How can I correct this problem?

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
