Intertrust has released an updated version of its Doc Box plugin for Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and Acrobat Reader 5.0.

Users that require the Intertrust digital rights management system in order to open secure pdf files are encouraged to download the new plugin. This new plugin also fixes problems for people who had system or debugger conflicts with the Doc Box plugin.

NOTE: This update is not supported on Windows 95. If you are using Windows 95 and are having issues with DocBox.api, simply remove any and all instances of this plugin. You can find the plugin by doing a search for "docbox.api" on your system.

Reader 5 seems to work OK with Win95 if you get rid of the docbox.api plugin.

I don't know why Adobe gives Reader 5 to people that choose "win 95" as their OS.

    and803,

New or used, you still have to read previous postings. Are you aware that there are AT LEAST 48 instances of someone telling someone else that Win95 does not work with Acrobat Reader 5.0 and/or to remove the docbox.api in this thread alone?

    Delete all instances of docbox.api

Also realize that Reader 5 is not designed to work with Windows 95.

    Good morning Mr. Phelps.

If you look in the plug-ins folder of Reader, you will find a subfolder called Intertrust. Inside this folder is a file called docbox.api.

Your assignment, should you accept it, is to eliminate this docbox.api, with extreme prejudice. If , while removing this docbox.api, should you, or any of your coworkers, be captured or killed, Adobe will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This forum will self-destruct in 5 seconds. Good luck Matthew.

I hope to God that it's really Tom or sonic (or me) signing in under a new, fake name to ask these questions.

Surely these can't be actual users, can they?
