Intertrust has released an updated version of its Doc Box plugin for Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and Acrobat Reader 5.0.

Users that require the Intertrust digital rights management system in order to open secure pdf files are encouraged to download the new plugin. This new plugin also fixes problems for people who had system or debugger conflicts with the Doc Box plugin.

NOTE: This update is not supported on Windows 95. If you are using Windows 95 and are having issues with DocBox.api, simply remove any and all instances of this plugin. You can find the plugin by doing a search for "docbox.api" on your system.

Downloaded OK, installed OK, but then "ACRORD32 caused an invalid page fault in module DOCBOX.API". What should I do?

    You're kidding, right?

Good point, Steve, thanks for the reminder and keeping me honest.

However, in the newsreader, do all 240+ messages display visibly and in close proximity to the post to which one would reply?

I do agree this forum is more Web-friendly than newsreader-friendly, from my perspective.

    Cheers,

It'd depend entirely on how the newsreader's set up. OE seems to default to
grabbing 100 headers at a time (which'd be the most recent when you join a
new group), so in a fairly busy group like this, you might not see anything
    relevant to Docbox.

So that gives the more experienced users a choice: expend a lot of energy
and adrenalin berating the poor newbie and maybe scaring 'em off, or adopt
Aandi's strategy, a short, to-the-point boilerplate answer and out the door.

Delete docbox.api, the fix doesn't work for Windows 95.

In fact, Windows 95 is not a supported OS for Acrobat 5 so you're lucky it ever works.

This is in response to the DocBox.api plugin. A few employees at my company use Windows 95 Japanese version. I installed Acrobat Reader 5 and the DocBox.api plugin update. Acrobat Reader still crashes when "initializing DocBox.api". Is there another fix?

    Remove docbox.api

Does this link also hide the text that says "240 messages. Displaying 238 through 240."?

Some people use a newsreader rather than the web view.
Don't assume anything about what they do or don't see.

I'd love to talk to the webmaster about it. Where, exactly, is this link?

Actually, They are not seeing the thread. There is a link that jumps them directly to the post window and bypasses the entire thread.

You might want to talk to the Webmaster about that.

    >Take your computer back to the store because you are too incompetent to operate one.

    Sad. But, true.

    Here's an idea:

    a) Delete all messages in this thread.

    b) Make the thread read only.

    c) Write the following statements in the one-post read-only thread that results:

    1) Don't use Acrobat 5 with Windows 95.

    2) If you get a Docbox.api error, try deleting all instances of the file called docbox.api and reinstalling an updated version of this file.

    3) If you have tried everything else and are still getting the docbox.api error, just search for and delete all instances of the docbox.api on your computer.

    4) If you have done 1-3 and are still getting the error, show these posts to your five-year old or throw your computer in the toilet. Either way, it's too complicated for you; stick to hammer and chisel.

    ;?)

You guys are right, it probably wouldn't help.

What gets me is that these people have to navigate to the end of the thread in order to post, anyway. Why the heck aren't they reading any replies?!
