Intertrust has released an updated version of its Doc Box plugin for Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and Acrobat Reader 5.0.

Users that require the Intertrust digital rights management system in order to open secure pdf files are encouraged to download the new plugin. This new plugin also fixes problems for people who had system or debugger conflicts with the Doc Box plugin.

NOTE: This update is not supported on Windows 95. If you are using Windows 95 and are having issues with DocBox.api, simply remove any and all instances of this plugin. You can find the plugin by doing a search for "docbox.api" on your system.

    Dunstan,

You have NOT been paying attention!

This update will NOT work with Win95. Acrobat 5.0 isn't even supposed to work with Win95A.

Get rid of the docbox.api file.

    Dear Sir/Madam:

I recently uninstalled Acrobat reader 3 and installed Acrobat 5 on a Windows 95 platform. When attempting to read a downloaded PDF document I receive an error message:
ACRORD32 caused an invalid page fault in module DOCBOX.API at 0137:37023915 Registers:....

I installed the corrective software( Interlink...) as was suggested but to no avail.

    Could you please help me?

    Thanks

    Dunstan Sorhaindo

    >I have 9.2 and OSX, but there is no Creare Adobe PDF in FrameMaker, which is what I am using. There is a Save As Adobe PDF, but everyone knows not to use that, so it's drag, drop, drag, drop. It's a real drag.

ahhhh, yes, Create Adobe PDF does not work in 9.2 when run as Classic in OSX.

    Looks like you're stuck, haha:~P

Everybody gets at least one docbox.api if they install Acrobat and/or Reader 5.0. It's an integral part of the download.

Use Start>Find>Files and Folders to locate it/them, the delete them from there.

    Sonic,

I have 9.2 and OSX, but there is no Creare Adobe PDF in FrameMaker, which is what I am using. There is a Save As Adobe PDF, but everyone knows not to use that, so it's drag, drop, drag, drop. It's a real drag.

Seriously?? If you are getting the docbox.api error, then you must have the docbox.api files installed.

    I would think . . ..

Am not sure about your download problem. Are you behind a firewall that is restricting your ability to download? Go to http://www.adobe.com and follow the Get Acrobat Reader links.

    William,

Readers usually reside in harmony on the same computer, as long as they are in different folders, but obviously, yours is acting up.

What I would do is search the knowledge database (SEARCH buuton in upper right corner of this page, select the Entire Site radio button) for the manual removal instructions for 3 and 4, remove them completely, then download and install Reader 5.0.1. If you search these forums for manually remove you will find exact instructions on how to make sure you get every last bit of the old Readers out of your system.

    Gary,

I bet you have Win95. Upgrade don't work. Delete delete delete.
