Intertrust has released an updated version of its Doc Box plugin for Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and Acrobat Reader 5.0.

Users that require the Intertrust digital rights management system in order to open secure pdf files are encouraged to download the new plugin. This new plugin also fixes problems for people who had system or debugger conflicts with the Doc Box plugin.

NOTE: This update is not supported on Windows 95. If you are using Windows 95 and are having issues with DocBox.api, simply remove any and all instances of this plugin. You can find the plugin by doing a search for "docbox.api" on your system.

Thank you so much for the tips on deleting the DOCBOX! It works!

Older versions of only Reader are available.

Just to clarify, before we get the "I looked on the FTP site but all I could find was Reader, not the full version" posts.

Not that answering the question has ever stopped people from asking it again, but it's worth a shot.

Older versions are on Adobe's FTP site ftp://ftp.adobe.com/ which
seems to be broken right now.

For the 127th time, THE DOCBOX UPDATE DOES NOT WORK WITH WIN95, ANY VERSION!

Just delete it and get it over with. You don't need it, it doesn't do anything, and if you ever do need it, you will have to update your operating system to use it.

I've also been getting the docbox.api error...I downloaded the patch, installed it and still got the same error. I use win 95, not sure if A, B or neither.

Is it possible for Adobe to make 4.0 available again?

    David,

Maybe you are using a Win95 OS?

Reader 5.0 is NOT supposed to work with Win95A (it usually does, but it's not supposed to) and the docbox fix doesn't work with Win95B, so either Win95 OS requires removal of the docbox.api(s).
