Intertrust has released an updated version of its Doc Box plugin for Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and Acrobat Reader 5.0.

Users that require the Intertrust digital rights management system in order to open secure pdf files are encouraged to download the new plugin. This new plugin also fixes problems for people who had system or debugger conflicts with the Doc Box plugin.

NOTE: This update is not supported on Windows 95. If you are using Windows 95 and are having issues with DocBox.api, simply remove any and all instances of this plugin. You can find the plugin by doing a search for "docbox.api" on your system.

Excuse me, none of you answered my question?

How may I correct the following fualt?
I am not unhappy with ADOBE! I realized who was to blame when I reread the instructions of Chris Holm - 01:28pm Jul 25, 2001 Pacific and I downloaded the new plugin but how can I follow through with his instructions when I can not open my Reader 5.0..
It seems ACRORD32 in the Reader is causing the page fault.
    I did not open Netscape...

    >>why doesn't adobe correct its Reader 5? Please, advise<<

Because it is not really an Adobe problem, it is an InterTrust problem. They wrote the api to work with their security program. Adobe only includes it because InterTrust asked them to include it. I am sure Adobe are even more unhappy with InterTrust right now than you are with Adobe.

This is my message when I tried to open my new Reader 5.0.
I have reinstall it three xs and still can not open my reader. I don't see my solution in forum discussion other than downloading a new DOCBOX.API plug-in from another company, why doesn't adobe correct its Reader 5?
    Please, advise.

Not on my communicator 4.61. Nothing screwy about it, no hacks made. I only use this to test my websites - 95% of the time I use IE. This baby was rock solid before deleting docbox. I reinstalled it and netscape is back to normal...but, of course, acrobat is crapping out now. Anyways, just a warning to others not to delete anything blindly.

Shame, shame, double shame!!! Take it from a computer engineer (I`m not just computer scientist/programmer), this is a travsesty for a blue chip comp. like Adobe.

um... jack, my netscape works fine with the docbox deleted, and so does the other 300 PC's we have here at this facility. You've definitely got something screwy going on if deleting a plugin from another program causes netscape to crash.

Watch out!!! Don't just delete docbox.api!!! If you are using netscape as a second browser, you'll see that it will crash when you try to open it. I am suffering the consequences right now! Just rename it. This is just plain nuts!
