Intertrust has released an updated version of its Doc Box plugin for Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and Acrobat Reader 5.0.

Users that require the Intertrust digital rights management system in order to open secure pdf files are encouraged to download the new plugin. This new plugin also fixes problems for people who had system or debugger conflicts with the Doc Box plugin.

NOTE: This update is not supported on Windows 95. If you are using Windows 95 and are having issues with DocBox.api, simply remove any and all instances of this plugin. You can find the plugin by doing a search for "docbox.api" on your system.

Just a quick thank you to Aandi Inston.

It was that simple. I removed all my "docbox.api" files and now it seeems to work fine.

    Now I can sleep.

    Thanks again!

Have a question on converting 4.0 Adobe Writer files and using 5.O Adobe Reader to view. The file conversions do not match. When I view in 4.0 there fine and viewable. If I send to another person and they have version 5.0 Reader, why can't they view the same material.

I would like to ask an elementary question: Why can't I run Adobe reader 5.0 on my Windows 95 computer, with the IE browser? When I try to open a PDF file from within the browser I get the answer: Acrobat external window handler not found. When I try to launch the reader not within a browser, the problem has something to do with a "doc.box" thing. I am at my wits' end here. Help. MK

I need to upgrade from Windows 3.0 to 3.1.

Any ideas where I can find the upgrade? I don't see it in the Microsoft download center? Thanks in advance.

Windows 95B is also known as Windows 95 OSR/2. As I recall, it was never available as a download - only as a whole new version on CD.

I was able to read and print using Acrobat Reader after changing the extension of docbox.api. I am using Windows 95 4.00.950r-7 (Hebrew Enabled).

Any ideas where I can find the upgrade to Windows 95B? I don't see it in the Microsoft download center? Thanks in advance.

Getting rid of docbox.api enables one to read files in Win95, but can anybody print the damn things? At least with earlier versions 4 out of 5 would print.

    >Can any one help or has a solution?I am running win95 .

    >ACRORD32 caused an invalid page fault in module DOCBOX.API at 0137:37023915.

Amazing. A brand new bug. Never heard of that one before, how bizzarre. Adobe should name it the "I_Fanton" bug after the guy who discovered it.

Now, I wonder where you could go to read potential solutions, about deleting docbox.api, about considering an upgrade to Win98, etc.?

    1. Acrobat 5 is for use with Windows 95-OSR2 (Win95B) or higher, not Windows 95.

    2. This whole topic is about how to solve this problem, Fanton. Did you read the topic before you posted to it?
