Question

Bookmark titles not showing up

I have a PDF with bookmarks. When I look at the bookmark tab, I can see that the bookmarks are there and I can click on them and they work. However, the text for the bookmark titles is not showing up. If I double click to rename I can see what each bookmark is called, but even if I type the name out again and save, it is not showing up.

Right-click on any bookmark : Properties.

And make sure the color of the bookmarks is not white.

You can select all bookmarks to change their color in a single operation.

Thank you for the suggestion. They are all set to black. I am wondering if a setting under the "Actions" tab could fix the issue.

Deselecting “Wrap Long Bookmarks” it will make your titles appear

Hi @Amber34263942nq9p

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the files? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.08.2042X installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082  and check.

Let us know how it goes.

Unfortuantely none of that worked. I made sure i have the latest version and followed the other steps. It is happening with all PDF's.

Hi there

Please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.

If it still doesn't work, please remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html , reboot the computer and reinstall the application using the direct link https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html
