error 'There was a RAISE without a handler. The application will now exit'

I'm having an issue when trying to convert a pdf to a print-ready PDF/X-4 via Preflight (it doesn't allow me to simply 'save it as' a PDF-X-4; instead it prompts me to use Preflight) and I get a popup that says "There was a RAISE without a handler. The application will now exit", before the app crashes. Is there any way to resolve this? I'm using a Macbook Air M2, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1.
