I hope you're doing well, and I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your PDF files. It can be quite frustrating when technology doesn't cooperate. Let's work together to get this sorted out.

Firstly, it's important to determine whether this issue is specific to a certain PDF file or if it's affecting all PDFs. To do this, I recommend trying to open a different PDF file to see if the problem persists. If the file is stored on a shared network or drive, consider downloading it locally to your computer and then attempting to open it again.

Could you let me know which version of Acrobat DC you are using? You can check this by going to Help > About Acrobat. It's recommended to have the most recent version, which should be 23.03.20284. If not, you can check for updates by going to Help > Check for updates. After updating, remember to restart your computer.

If the issue persists, you might want to attempt to repair the Acrobat installation. Please go to the help menu > Repair Installation (this is applicable for Windows users).

Resetting the Acrobat preferences can often resolve unexpected problems. You can find instructions on how to do this here: Acrobat Preferences Reset Guide.

Additionally, creating a new test user profile with admin rights on Windows or enabling the root account on macOS could help determine if the issue is related to your user profile.

If none of the above steps alleviate the problem, you can consider using the Acrobat Cleaner tool to remove the application altogether. Here's the link to the tool: Acrobat Cleaner Tool. After running the cleaner tool and rebooting your computer, you can reinstall Acrobat DC using this direct link: Acrobat DC Downloads.

Let us know how it goes. Remember that technology hiccups happen to the best of us, and you're not alone in this. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Regards
Amal
