Question

How to go back later and edit previously added text?

when I add text to a PDF, save and close the document, then reopen the PDF, the added text is only editable one line at a time, not as a block or paragraph of text. This is a problem if edits cause line break changes. How do I keep the added text as a paragraph block so that it can be edited as a block, not line by line?

Despite what the Adobe marketing videos portray, Acrobat is not a word processor. It can be used to make minor edits, like fixing a typo or adding some punctuation, but beyond that, it’s really unpredictable. I recommend adding the text in the program which originally created the PDF, like Word, Excel, InDesign, etc.

If you really must add the text in Acrobat, you can have more control if you add it using the commenting tools, as opposed to the Edit tools.
