I can print from iphone but not from macbook

I can't print a pdf document I'm working from adobe acrobat from my macbook HP printer. I've uninstalled, reinstalled and updated all drivers respectively, but I still can't print.

I get an error message every time:
Cannot create pdf from this file.

I saved the document in the form of save as and it still didn't work.
