Images not inserting into Adobe Acrobat (newest version)

I just installed the newest version of Adobe Acrobat, which I use often and rarely have issues with. I am now unable to insert an image into a PDF, even after clicking on the "add image" icon. Instead, the image comes up slightly transparent, but I cannot place the image into the document. Does anyone have any ideas? I have been using this program for a long time, and I am frustrated with the poor functionality of the latest version.

The "new Acrobat" is just a beta version not even finalised.

You should revert to the classic UI: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/acrobat-2023-how-to-revert-to-classic-gui-user-interface/td-p/14052807

It works for me. Do you mean this?

What happens when you click at the current position?

Thank you! Yes. When I click on the position where I want the image placed, nothing happens at all, and the image doesn't "stick like it used to in the previous version. I'm wondering if there is a bug in the program, or if I may be missing something. Thanks for your response.
