However, I don't see the relationship of your topic with Adobe Acrobat , which is the forum where you posted this inquiry. Besides, the answer to your question is already answered in that website.

 

Are you really asking a question here?

 

In my opinion, fax machines nowadays "all-in-one printers" and photcopying machines are still a more secure medium to transmit documents securely;  specifically electronic documents over secured phone lines. 

 

From what I've read they can't transmit viruses like in the case of emails with attachments, for example, which makes them almost unhackable in that context.

 

A better question would be when exactly was the first PDF document (made in Acrobat 1.0) faxed successfully from a computer to another computer using Internet Fax service.

 

It would've been pointless for the general public  to adopt Acrobat 1.0 when it was released in 1993 if  Internet Fax services wouldn't have make it successfully in the computer industry three years later in 1996.
