MS Word to PDF randomly reassigns links to figures. And the pagination is also off too

When converting MS Word to PDF via "save as" it randomly reassigns links to figures.

And, the pagination is also off so my pagination from Word to PDF changes considerably on export. I've tried exporting for digital or print formats of .PDF and both don't work.

I'm using Mac MS Word 16.78, and Mac Acrobat 2023.006.20380. Looks like old bugs. Anyone know what versions of both software works, so I can roll back the updates?

Thanks, Amanda

Exporting PDFs from MS Office on Macs has always been dicey.  That's because Apple prevents some tools that Windows versions of Office (and Acrobat) have.

It also means that updating your software may be critical to correct these problems.

Next item to check is how you're making the PDF. Can you give us the exact steps you're taking? What are the settings in the dialogue boxes?

Do you need accessible tagged PDFs? Print/press PDFs? Or just general-use PDFs?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
