OCR only first 3 pages

Does anyone know how to create a custom tool to run OCR on a scanned document but only for the first 3 pages? ive tried to javascript it but it doesn't work. I then want to save it using the info on the first 3 pages. Happy to do that part manually, just want it to only read 3 pages instead of the hundreds.... Thanks!
