Question

Send file by email locks Adobe Acrobat without opening Outlook draft email

When user clicks "Send file by email," the Outlook draft email window doesn't open and Acrobat is locked and emits error dings when clicking in Acrobat until ending Acrobat.exe in the Task Manager. This behavior first appeared late last week and we now have 3 users that it is happening to, myself included. Today I installed updates and I'm now on Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 2023.008.20421 but that didn't fix the issue. Any suggestions for resolving this issue?

Hi @Randy34406483ko7y

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or all the PDFs? Please try with a different file and check.

As you have already updated the application to the latest version, please try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Also, try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082 and see if that works.

If it still doesn't work, would you mind collecting the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html , Procmon logs (Win Only) https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/acromonitor.html  and Crash/freeze logs https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/collect-logs-crash-freeze.html  and share them via any cloud storage. Just upload the log file to the cloud and generate the link and share that link with us for further investigation.

Amal, I ran a repair on my Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise installation and that fixed the program.
