What happened to the option to create a pdf using the .u3d file type?

I used to be able to create a 3d pdf by following this work flow.

File - Create - pdf from file - then select a .u3d file and click open

a new 3d pdf would be created.

As of a couple days ago it stopped working.  Looks like all the 3D file types have disappeared as supported file types.  I used to be able to use step files as well but that is go to.  Anyone know what is going on??

... Just found that U3d files can be exported via (free) "Meshlab" (at least Version 2023) and "DazStudio" ... i have been looking for this free-convert-option for a long time, hope it helps!

Both the "FeatureState" key and the "Block3DConversion" DWORD value need to be created manually by you.

Hi Ryanh,

Thank you for reporting this issue.

Could you please provide us more details about the issue as asked below?

- What is the current version of the Acrobat installed on your machine? You may take help of the steps provided here Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

- Are you on Mac or Windows? Please share the OS version.

- Did you make any changes recently after which the options disappeared?

Please try once to repair the application installation and make sure that the application is updated to the latest version.

Launch the application and go to Help > Repair Installation (only for Windows) or Check for updates.

Also, make sure that you select "All Supported Formats" in the Open window when you use Create > PDF from file.

We will be waiting for your response.

Let us know if you need any help.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Version: 2019.012.20034

Windows 10Pro

no changes made recently

Ran the repair installation and checked for updates.  I am all up to date.

Still can not create a pdf from a .U3D file.  Adobe says that the .U3d file is a supported direct file conversion.  But that seems to have gone away.

Supported file formats in Acrobat and Reader

I will go out on a limb and say that Adobe has removed this option as a direct file conversion.

I do have the exact same problem. I happened to convert a lot files lately so i can say for sure that the problem occurred between the 16th or 17th as I still could use the option on the 15th but not the 17th anymore.

I use Windows 10 Home
