HELP! Can't install Flash Player 9 on a Mac OSX v.10.3.9 Power PC

I have a Mac OSX v.10.3.9 Power PC - and have downloaded the appropriate plug in for Flashplayer 9 (only the newer Macs support Flashplayer 10). When I open the "Install Flash Player 9 UB.dmg" icon I unpack two icons - Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt. When I try to open either of these I get the message "There is no default application specified to open the document ...". This seems like a fault with the Adobe download (other Adobe products automatically carry an installation file with them). I used to have Flashplayer installed - but it's disappeared! Tearing my hair out - any help out there please?

I have the exact same prob;em. I download the package it tells me to; flash player 9. but it just has files that can't exicute... I tride openning them through firefox, safari, and even opera but it did absolutly nothing. Any help with this one?

I haven't anything useful to add, except that when I try to open the plug-in item, my computer tries to start up OS 9, which will no longer completely load. So it is useless. Can't anyone please offer a solution?

I totally cannot install Flash player 9 or 10 on imac osx 10.7...whatever....lol its new. I think most people here are more familiar with Pc's but I'm not certain. I will do more research and post back in a few days if I get anything super helpful.

I just installed the Flash Player 9 on my Power PC based Mac OS X 10.3.9 and
now no Flash elements work in Safari 1.3.2, or even Explorer. I have been sure to close all browsers, uninstall first etc. The
installations appears to complete successfully, but I get the following error
message on any page that has flash: Maybe Flash Player 9 is not compatible with it.
