At the end of the install I get a warning saying some products could not be installed. I open the error log and get this.

Thanks for that. I've run a repair on the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages that it mentions in the post you linked. Now I don't know if I need to reinstall as it seems to be working fine.

No need to re-install if it is working OK.

Hello Chris,

There is nothing to worry about, this should be happening because you already have the latest version of VC 2017 Runtime installed on your computer.

When Elements is installed, the version of the microsoft component VC runtime 2017, cannot be installed on the version that you already have.

Another user faced a similar issue, please see if this resolves your issue as well. https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2454500

Hello Chris,

This may be a bit late for you to benefit from my findings but perhaps others will find my suggestions useful.

After several frustrating attempts to install PSE 2018 and the getting same results as you report I think I have managed to discover why things were going wrong. I did repair all  Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages as suggested below but it wasn't until I realised that a Restart was necessary after each repair that it dawned on me that the same would apply after installing PSE 2018. You may recall that during the installation the appropriate Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages were being installed at the same time. It stands to reason therefore that the same rule would apply that the reinstallation of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages would require a Restart.

Having thought this through I decided after my final attempt to install PSE 2018 I would restart my PC and voila, it worked seamlessly so now I am at last able to try the app before committing to purchase it. Time will tell as to whether it has been worth the hassle! I do however feel that Adobe should stress the need to restart before going ahead with running the app.

Regards

Terry
