AdobeAcrobatReaderDC(19.021.20048) RuntimeError(abnormal program termination)

New Here ,
Oct 18, 2019 Oct 18, 2019

Hi.

When starting AcrobatReaderDC from around October 15th, there is a problem that "VisualC ++ RuntimeError" is displayed and the application terminates.

Even if you re-create the profile or update to the latest version (19.021.20048).

The only way to fix it was to delete “Home.aapp” in “AcroApp”.

If "Home.aapp" is deleted, RuntimeError does not occur.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

Hello.

Thank you for your reply! The OS uses Windows 10 (1809 / 17763.805). The update program has also been applied to the latest version. I restarted my computer, but it still doesn't start with an error.

Hello.

I will report the cause of the problem.
The cause was in the registry, not the program.

[Error key]
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\AVGeneral\cRecentFiles

The keys under cRecentFiles (c1, c2, etc.) have a setting value of [tDIText], but if this setting value disappears, it will crash.

Reproduced by deleting tDIText as a trial.

I don't know why tDIText disappeared, but for the time being I solved it myself!

Hi Priyanja, Girija

After upgrading to 2019.021.20056 and intentionally deleting the Recent setting in the registry, no error occurred. Thank you very much!
