Hi,

I'm trying to convert my book to a PDF format, using settings provided by the book manufacturer.

The problem is, whenever I load any Word document created on my Mac using Word ver 15.19.1 (which is the latest), I get the following error:

Distilling: Document1.docx

Start Time: 2016/03/01 at 7:08 PM

Source: /Users/leighmorum/Downloads/Document1.docx

Destination: /Users/leighmorum/Downloads/Document1.pdf

Adobe PDF Settings: /Users/leighmorum/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings/Lulu.joboptions

%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: PK    ]%%

%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%

%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

Distill Time: 0 seconds (00:00:00)

**** End of Job ****

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Yes, very simple.

Distiller converts PostScript files to PDF. It cannot convert Word Documents to PDF files. You got an error because you were trying to feed the Distiller a .docx file instead of a PostScript (.ps) file.

You create a PDF file from Word from within Word itself from within the Print Dialog using the Adobe PDF option (bottom of print dialog).

Thanks Dov - shows how ignorant I am!

How do I use the publisher's settings if I am simply using the print

dialog? Them seem to load into Adobe Distiller but not into Adobe Photoshop.

Here is their file containing the million settings I need to abide by...

Many thanks.
