Command Line/ Terminal / Headless based conversion of PDF to Word document

We currently have about 1500 PDF documents we would like to convert to Word documents.

We gave it a shot through the Acrobat DC UI and it worked perfectly, but repeating this process 1500+ times isn't really desirable.

Is it possible to run the export feature of Acrobat DC through something line a Windows Command line, or through a bash command on OSX or Linux that would allow us to write a script to mass convert the PDFs?

Not possible technically, and possibly also not allowed according to the EULA.

Closest you can get to that is by using an Action in Acrobat Pro, but that requires user interaction.
