How do I convert mail merge documents to individual pdf docs and save each with a field in the merge?

Is this an actual field, or just some piece of static text somewhere? Either way, you can't do it using the Split Document command. You'll need to use a custom-made script to read the value of this "field" and use it when extracting pages from the file.

What do you mean by "mail merge documents", exactly?

I have a Micro soft Word Mail merge using Microsoft Excel as the data source. I created a mail merge with 5,500 records. I want to create 5500 PDF files with a field in the excel field (merge field) as the name of each PDF file.

So you want to perform a mail merge operation on a PDF form and an Excel spreadsheet?

Well I have completed the Word template and I am not familiar with the PDF form and was hoping I could use what I created already,

So you basically just want to convert a Word document to a PDF file?

Basically, but I want to create 5500 separate pdf versus 1, which I can accomplish through completing teh merge in word and save as PDF.

You can convert the entire Word file to PDF and then split it to individual page... Or you can create a PDF template file and then merge it with the Excel data.

Hi, I am trying to do the same thing, i.e. automatically give each file a meaningful name. Has there been any developments in the last 8 years since this post?
Also, as best as I can tell, I can only have the PDF emailed to one email address. Is there a way to have the file emailed to multiple addresses?
Thanks!

Both things (and many more) can be achieved using this (paid-for) tool I've developed for performing a Mail Merge operation in Acrobat: https://www.try67.com/tool/acrobat-mail-merge-and-email-pdf-files

There are toosl that can do this directly from your Word file that has the mail merge functionality but allows you to save directly to individual files. Look at https://www.mergeguru.com for example, it is like Mail Merge for files. Other tools are https://pdfmailmerger.com/. I am sure there are more tools like these.
Here are some screenshots of these tools:

Only they asked for the opposite of what that tool does...
