Is Adobe Acrobat XI digital download version 11.0.00 is as secure as version 11.0.19. Not taking updates

Retailer told me that the digital download version Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.00 is just as secure as Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.19. I am looking for proof. I would not mind updating by other means as long as the software is as secure as possible. The retailer told me that updates for Adobe Acrobat XI are the same as Adobe Reader and directed me to this site: http://supportdownloads.adobe.com/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows. I am very cautious about stuff like this. The software did install and register/activate with no problems...

If you have a legally-licensed and activated copy on Acrobat 11 installed, you should be able to get all the updates to the latest version.

Why are you or this “retailer” so against accepting the updates? Is the software hacked somehow?

To answer you basic question, though, many security updates went into the various Acrobat 11 updates through its lifetime and absolutely no, 11.0.00 is not as secure as 11.0.19!!!

FWIW, Acrobat 11 isn't currently available through Authorized Adobe Resellers. It was discontinued when Acrobat DC was released nearly two years ago. Something smells fishy here when someone wants to license a discontinued Acrobat 11 (via a “digital download”) to you but tries to dissuade you from applying updates!
