I'm running OS 10.12.6 Sierra on my iMac with Adobe CS6 and Bridge 5.0.24.

I just bought a new Nikon D7500 and can't open the NEF files in Bridge.

I'm planning to buy a new iMac sometime in 2020 and don't want to subscribe to CC2019 and have to move it to the new computer.

How do I get a compatible plug-in to use now?

I downloaded Camera Raw 10.5 but that didn't work.

Help!

Thanks, All!

Unfortunatly photoshop cs6 can only use up to camera raw 9.1.1, which is too old to open the D7500 nefs.

You can however use the adobe dng converter to convert the D7500 nefs to dng copies which should then open in cs6.

Hi Chrismig,

Jeff is correct that you can use the DNG converter to let PS-CS6 access your new camera's images BUT when you get that new iMac with Catalina OS on it, you will NOT be able to use PS-CS6.

At that point you have four choices: (1) accept that you will have to get one of the many variations of a PS plan*, (2) Switch over to Photoshop Express, (3) find alternate software, or lastly (4) do not get a new computer.

I'm sorry, I do understand the frustration here but technology always reequires parallel advancement.
