Hello

Hoping you can help.  I am working from CS6 and just bought a new Nikon D850.  I went to the Adobe site to get the latest installer 9.1.1, so it will read my files and downloaded it as instructed.  Photoshop will still not read or convert my NEF Files?  And, I do not want to convert to DNG files.

Thoughts, solutions?

The D850 was first supported by Camera Raw 9.12.1.

Cameras supported by Camera Raw

CS6 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to 9.1.1. That's 11 versions behind.

Your options are simple:

  • Join the Cloud and open D850 Raw files in Photoshop CC, or
  • Convert to DNG then open the DNGs in CS6

Hi Alex,

as John has stated, those are your two options. That’s It. FWIW, I’ve been converting to DNGs for years and have been enjoying all the benefits for many years.
