I am running Photoshop CS5 - could this be the reason i can't open RAW files downloaded from my Canon?

Window comes up and says camera model is not supported by Camera RAW.  I have tried updating but window comes up telling me not able to... is this cause i'm running an 'old' version of Photoshop?  When i tried to update, all i get are monthly package options for Photoshop, Lightroom CC, etc....

i know, i'm probably a dinasour in Digital/Photoshop language, but i just want to be able to read my RAW files... help!

CK.

The only other option is to use the free DNG converter, which will convert your raw files to DNG files, which can then be read by CS5.
