Hello

I've just bought a new camera : panasonic DC FX9 and I can't open the RAW2 file in my lightroom 6 (I made all upgrades) . I saw on the list that these RAW are not compatible in lightroom 6 (I don't have the CC version).

Do you know when it will be possible to open my photos in my lightroom ?

Regards

Emmanuel

The GX9 was first supported in Lightroom 7.3.

Cameras supported by Camera Raw

Adobe never retrospectively adds support for new cameras to older versions of Lightroom so you'll never be able to open those Raw files in Lightroom 6.

You have a couple of options:

  1. Upgrade to Lightroom Classic CC, or
  2. Download the free Adobe DNG converter and convert all Raw files to DNG format. Then open the converted DNG files (not the Raw files from your camera) in Lightroom 6. An extra step for you but no extra cost.

Do you mean DC GX9 or GF9?

The DC FX9 was released in 2005.

Thank you for the answer. I'm already doing this (convert in PNG) and it works but I was wondering if doing this is a loss of quality or not.

I assume you mean Convert to DNG. PNG is something else entirely.

No. Same result. DNG is just another form of Raw.
