Receiving Flash Player 10.2 not supported error on multiple sites after updating to FP 18.002

after updating to FP 18.

Many video sites and Amazon's CreateSpace Publishing Platform are now giving me an error such as:

-Your web browser does not currently support Flash Player 10.2, which is required to open Interior Reviewer. For instructions on how to get Flash Player, go here.

or

- Error loading player: Flash version must be 10.0 or greater

I have fully uninstalled flash player multiple times and attempted to install older versions I had downloaded and stored, but when I attempt to install an older version the install shows a blank screen and then the file disappears from the folder.

I can't get the installer to work with anything but the latest version but I must finish this book project and the latest version of Flash Player apparently no longer computes as a player for the older versions still active on some sites.

I've had this issue with all sites using JW player (at least older versions) as well starting last week around Friday.

Is anyone else having this issue or have happen to have some uncommon solutions for this type of error? FAQ's aren't helping.

Hi StsStudios,

I'm not sure why you're getting that message after updating to Flash Player 18.  Flash Player version detection on website is performed by the content provider.

As for the saved installers you are using, it appears that you are using old online installers, which are shim installers that download and install Flash Player silently in the background. These are designed to self-delete after execution.

I recommend performing a clean install of Flash Player, please see the FAQ How do I do a clean install of Flash Player?‌

I was able to fix this issue,  using the full installer, clearing my cache and then performing a full reset on my PC.

I believe the original issue was due to a memory leak in my browser (firefox) which said it was closed but left the process running in the background, preventing proper file replacement.

Thank You for your answer.
