all email links from this document work just fine on a desktop but they do not work on an ipad or iphone

Can anyone tell me why?

I think that would be a question to ask on the Apple forums. It's often the case that interactivity which works on desktop/laptop computers doesn't work on mobile devices. It's nothing that InDesign, or you have any control over, I'm afraid.

Hi,

You mean this link...

Can you try on a non apple touch mobile or tablet as well?

Or can you try on a non apple touch enabled laptop?

Hi. I had a look at your document.

I don't have any Apple device: I opened it on a Desktop (PC/chrome) and Mobile (Android)

As a matter of fact, some links work, some don't...

On a desktop, it's easy to see that when hovering the contact icon, the "mailto" url is displayed, just like in page 3, where link works.

And when hovering some over (like in page 2 or page 33)... no URL is displayed. And link obviously doesn't work...

I suggest you re-check your links page by page...

I mean all the hyperlinks, not only "mailto" ones. I.e: "Caravans" on page 33... no link^^

I'm having this issue as well. I tried both the "email" style links and also the "URL" style links with "mailto:" code in the URL and none of these function on iPad. They work flawlessly on PC in Chrome and IE11.

Unfortunately it seems less likely to get an answer from Apple on something like this. I feel like a conversation between Adobe and Apple might be beneficial if that's possible. Even if Apple said "We block those types of interactions because XYZ" it's not like there is anything we the InDesign users can do about that, especially since Adobe has full control over the "Publish Online" server that these are hosted on. I think we need some guidance from Adobe on how to address this with iPad otherwise this will be a bit of a circus trying to get answers with everyone pointing fingers to everyone else .
