indesign error: file is damaged (error code: 4)

Hi, i have a file that just wont open. see below. how do i fix this?

somebody in windows was able to open it. they made me a .idml

Probably toast.

Try to open a copy. Beyond that, Markzware has a file recovery service. If it works, great, if not, you don't pay.

Do you have a backup?
