MP4 Videos with Hikvision codec?

Hi,

I've a great amount of videos that need to be available in a website. The videos are recorded using Hikvision cameras and therefore they have a propietary codec. I'm having a lot problems with these codecs (running on some pcs, not working on others) so I decided to serve the videos through streaming using Flash Media Server.

I've been able to use FMS with the example "sample video player". It works perfectly with the mp4 samples of the tutorial. But when I try to put one of my videos the player screen keeps buffering. It's important to highlight that I can play my videos with Windows Media Player (Hikvision provides a Windows Media Player Filter) and a propietary player that this company provides as well.

I would like to know if there is a way to set up these codecs into FMS, because I know that FMS supports MP4, but I'd like to specify the codec I just need.

Thanks in advance

FMS supports Mp4 but with only H.264 video codec not with propritory codec. You can just run FLVCheck on your files and see if it passes - if it does not then it migth not play via FMS. Try it out and let us know.

First of all, thanks for your reply.

I ran FLVCheck and I got Error 18 (Truncated box). I guessed this was why FMS didn't get the propritory codecs from the OS. And that's why I wondered if there's a way to link FMS with other codecs. I'm afraid this is not looking good for me .
