Retaining the measurement log entries as part of the .psd file

The measurement log panel has been improved in CS6. The changes are all good, but the user STILL has to export the log to a .CSV file to keep a record of the measurements taken. Even after saving the .psd file, all measurements currently in the log are lost after the file is closed. I would like to see Photoshop RETAIN the measurements as part of the .psd file.

Not sure what you’re saying... something may have been improved in CS6, but how is it in CC, CC2014, CC2015, CC2017, CC2018, CC2019, 2020? Why are we interested specifically in something that was improved 7 versions ago?

It's a feature request. My take on the post is that there may have been improvements made to the feature way back in CS6, however nothing since. The measurements can be exported to a tab-delimited text file and that is it. Just as guides and colour samplers can be retained in the PSD after closing and reopening the file, the feature request is to have the measurement log info retained in the file as well.

It should be possible to import the log file data as a metadata entry or as a text layer entry, however, this would be a manual multi-step workflow using ExifTool or a custom script.
