Adobe 2022 = Money Grabbing Lizards

Hello,

I have been a subscriber to Adobe products for over 10+ years. Throughout college, and university. I have to say without Adobe throughout those periods, I would never have achieved what I have gone on to achieve.

However, back then, it felt a little more like Adobe was created to support young people and independent creators. Now, it seems they have created a membership model, which is solely focused on grabbing money, it's disgusting, and people who work at Adobe should be deeply ashamed.

When signing up for an Adobe trial, you cannot cancel your trial, until you pay a month's membership. Once the month's membership is paid, you cannot cancel the overall membership, unless you pay the 'end membership early payment', which for illustrator is £100. It's an absolutely disgrace.

Fair play to Adobe for creating a product that has monopolized the creative industry. But keeping your user's around iron gates, is no way to make them stay when the new kids begin to show up. *Cough* Figma.

For everyone reading this... When you 'click to agree' to the subscription terms while buying a subscription, that means that you really do need to read BEFORE you enter your credit card number to buy a subscription... See this page for more information, including a yellow highlited section from the subscription page https://community.adobe.com/t5/account-payment-plan-discussions/adobe-subscription-is-a-rip-off/td-p...

@John T Smith, i think that the op just needs to edit their message to state that unless you very carefully read the very fine print and follow off-subscription page links, ..the rest of their complaints.  (and, of course, the op's statement about being a 10 year subscriber and canceling a trial makes no sense unless they're confounding two or more subscriptions.)

look at that print in yellow.  i think that's fine print (=small font).  i think it should bigger bold font.

and even making that big and bold wouldn't obviate the need to read that text carefully, because only at the end of the next-to-last sentence is there a hint of a penalty (ie, "Cancel before mm/dd, yyyy to get a full refund and avoid a fee."  then there are two links that you have to follow, and then read, to fully understand the contract).

I don't know where you live but that is NOT my experience.  Customers can cancel anytime by contacting Adobe Support.

CONTACT ADOBE SUPPORT:
================
Online Chat: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
Phone M-F, during normal business hours: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html

If you're a first time subscriber, you have 14 days to cancel without penalty and receive a refund.  After which there is a 50% early termination fee for cancelling before the 12th month of service.

To cancel online, your payments and credit card details must be current.  But that's standard practice in the online payment industry.

Subscription & Cancellation Terms:

Adobe has plenty of things to work on but the subscription model is nothing to be ashamed of.  It works very well for the majority of users for whom the complete line of products were not affordable under the old system.  And subscription based service has significantly reduced the widespread problem with piracy.  So it's a win, win for everyone.
