I've been a subscriber since 2021. Suddenly this past August, Adobe started charging me sales tax for KENNEWICK WA. I noticed this in December. I live in OREGON, and my billing info has always been OREGON. A state where there is no sales tax. In Nov I asked it to be refunded and asked why my address was set to Kennewick WA(no ansswer). Saw a bill come through today, which again, shows 8.8% sales tax. I've spent hours with adobe CS and they keep asking me to submit an exemption certificate. And also are telling me that perhaps the SAAS laws changed in OR(they haven't).
I've spent hours dealing with this issue and adobe is trying to tell me that all oregon residents deal with this? I don't think so. They made me fill out an exemption certificate and also asked me to email my ID. Not even a secure link. WHY?!?!?!? This is shady AF

I've spent over 3 hours with adobe support and it's been useless. Posting here in case a)anyone has the same issue and b)perhaps I can learn how someone else solved a similar issue.

This regional tax law has been in effect since mid-2019. Perhaps it slipped below your radar.
In any case, there's nothing Adobe can do about regional tax laws. Take this up with your State's Legislature.
Good luck.

I know this issue you speak of, it is not the same. I can no longer drive to Seattle, present my Oregon ID and not pay tax. I am buying a digital service, same as the billion other subs I have, no one is charging me WA sales tax!

I have no idea who you purchased your software from.
But this much I know from personal experience. Authorize.net is one of the biggest payment processors in the U.S. They process billions of online CC transactions per year. They're also located in Seattle, WA.
I suggest you contact a local tax consultant for more details. This is way above my pay grade as an unpaid forum volunteer and Adobe product user.
