As far as I know, when you cancel early you pay a penalty of 1/2 of the remaining contract amount

You can also try talking to customer support. Given the pandemic situation, Adobe seems to be very sympathetic about either canceling w/o penalty or waiving subscription fees for a couple of months. This is not an official policy, however. It seems to depend on your personal situation, but it can't hurt to ask.
