yes, it's common for people to chose annual subscription paid monthly vs a monthly subscription (because the monthly - when available- costs more per month)
here's more information: make sure you're aware of the cancellation terms by selecting your plan type (at the top of the page here), https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/creative-cloud-subscription-terms.html
if you're unable to follow the steps described, you'll need to await help from an adobe employee for the next step. (if you don't get a reply here from a badged employee within 24 hours, repost.)
and for info on how to cancel your subscription, this page describes the few steps involved, https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/cancel-subscription.html
p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative.

Thank you for your message. I understand that many users prefer the annual plan paid monthly due to its lower monthly cost compared to a month-to-month plan.
However, I would like to clarify that I initially selected a monthly subscription. During the cancellation process, I was offered a discount to keep the subscription active, which I did not fully understand at the time. Unfortunately, this led to an unintentional transition to an annual plan, and I was charged accordingly.
I kindly request further assistance in resolving this issue, as I did not intend to switch to the annual plan. I hope you can help me correct this and issue a refund for the extra charges.
Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to your prompt response.
Best regards,

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hasip, I am sorry, but we don't offer an educational discount on month-to-month plans. I can confirm that you have successfully canceled your membership. Please see https://adobe.ly/3XqcIeT for more information on the fees that are charged when canceling an annual plan early. ^JW

Dear Jeffrey Adobe Support,
Thank you for confirming that my membership has been successfully canceled. However, I would like to address a misunderstanding regarding my subscription.
This was my first experience with Adobe, and I wasn’t properly shown or informed about the annual subscription when I signed up. I was under the impression that I was choosing a monthly subscription, and I even noticed that the first month was free, with subsequent payments supposed to be charged monthly. In fact, my invoice clearly states a 1-month period (December 8th, 2024 to January 7th, 2025), but I was charged for an annual subscription without my knowledge or consent.
This issue occurred due to a lack of clarity during the subscription process, and I don’t believe this is my fault. I kindly request a refund of the €70 I was charged, as I believe this is not the amount I should have paid for a monthly plan. I trust this was a mistake, and I hope you can assist me in resolving this matter.
Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to your prompt response.
Best regards,
