I purchased CS5 Design Standard more than 12 years ago. At the time, I used an old student email address to create the account. I no longer have access to that email. I would like to merge that old account into my current account. I still have my installation CD and serial number. I just dont have a rom drive on my current computer.

Well, if you did not activate 2-factor authentication or the authentication was connected to your cell phone, and you still own that number, you can still login to your old account using your old Adobe ID. That, however, won't help you to get the downloadable data.
If you do not have a drive, try to find someone with a drive. The data can be copied to a stick or an external hard drive. I kept all my CD stuff on the hard disk because it's much faster to install, if you need to reinstall. And the install software does not make a difference between a DVD or a folder on a hard disk.
