To cancel my subsription will cost me 814 South African rands.
This is ludicrous. I am a teacher and since teachers did not get any increases for the past two years because of the pandemic I realised that I can not afford adobe anymore and now it will basically cost me a year's subscription to cancel. This makes me extremely negative towards Adobe.

I'm afraid there's not much we can do for you. We're users like you, not Adobe employees, and you need to talk to an employee in customer service about this. It is possible that if you explain your situation to the CSR that they will waive part or all of the cancellation fee. They were waiving fees like that at the start of the pandemic if the pandemic was the reason you were in financial difficulty, but I don't know if the practice has continued and it was always at their discretion.
Contact customer support, explain your situation, and hope. I'll hope too.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I realize teachers are under great pressure right now. But I can't help but wonder why your school's administration is not providing you with the Adobe tools you need? Schools & Universities can obtain Creative Cloud for Faculty & Students at a substantial discount. Why aren't they doing it? Have you asked them?

The cancellation fee is half of the remaining year (you commit to a year at a time). The cancellation fee cannot be more than half the year. In the last month, there is no fee, but it is never cheaper to wait.
