I have recently considered purchasing Lightroom software; much to my dismay, it seems it's only available as a subscription. I am a photography enthusiast that will use something like Lightroom on an occasional basis, so buying a subscription based product makes no sense for this as I'd be paying for features I wouldn't need or use (aside from access to Lightroom software only). I'm disappointed that a company like Adobe would implement a structure like this. You'd think Adobe would try to get mass appeal rather than cater to a select few. Sorry for my opinion, but I can't justify paying monthly for something I'd use occasionally. Hopefully, Adobe may consider releasing a stand alone version of Lightroom in the future....

Let me move this to the Account, Payment, and Plan forum for you, which is the appropriate forum.
The Using the Community forum is for help in using the Adobe Support Community forums, not for help with specific programs. Product questions should be posted in the associated product community.

The last version of LR Classic which was available standalone was Lightroom 6, from spring 2015...
Adobe seems unlikely to bring this back, as frequent updates were not possible with that model. And the technology world is not slowing down in this regard.
However, you can always ask. You can express your feedback directly to Adobe here:

And if someone claiming to be from Adobe contacts you via email/DM offering to sell you LightRoom 6, delete the message and notify Adobe piracy. The people contacting you claiming to be an employee are scammers and the best you can hope for is they'll just steal your one payment. Adobe does not provide email support and there are no valid copies of any version of Creative Suites for sale anymore.
