Hi we generate 3d PDFs in Tekla and it doesn't allow assigning solid and transparency settings differently to different model objects. The workaround is to create all objects as solid in the initial export, then open the 3d PDF in Adobe and change the transparency of certain objects in Adobe. The issue is that the transparency changes don't stick when you save and reopen. In fact, the save button is greyed out when you the only changes made are to transparency settings of certain objects. Bluebeam has the same problem. I think the problem may be related to the metadata that is part of the IFC objects that come with the Tekla export to 3d PDF process. Is there a way to save, and alternatively is there a way to access the PDF objects' metadata and clear it out?

turns out that if you export IFC from Tekla with "use colors from view" setting on and open from Bluebeam (wasn't able to open an IFC file in Adobe Pro) a 3d pdf will be created with object transparency settings that match the Tekla view
